St. Bonaventure University to welcome four to Board of Trustees in September

St. Bonaventure University will welcome four new members to its Board of Trustees in September.

At their May Board meeting, trustees approved the appointments of Edwin 鈥淓d鈥 Evans, 鈥85; James Helms, 鈥95, 鈥18; Lisa (Melillo) Molinaro, 鈥81; and  Fr. Thomas Nairn, O.F.M. They will be officially sworn in at the September Board meeting.

Board chair Michael Hickey, vice chairs Carol Schumacher, 鈥78, and Steve Barry, 鈥88, and secretary Fr. Dan Horan, O.F.M., 鈥05, were re-elected to the Board鈥檚 executive committee.

Evans spent his career in the printing industry, beginning in 1985 when he joined Eastman Kodak. He retired as CEO of West-Camp Press in 2019. He holds a bachelor鈥檚 degree in Business Administration from the university.

Helms has served as CEO of Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville, New York, since 2021. He earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree in Business Administration from St. Bonaventure in 1995 and an MBA in 2018.

Molinaro graduated in 1981 from 天涯社区官网 with a bachelor鈥檚 degree in Journalism and Mass Communications and has considerable experience in organizational fundraising for nonprofit organizations in the Fairfield County (Conn.) region. She was the co-chair of the university's 150th Anniversary Campaign, which launched publicly in 2005 and culminated during 天涯社区官网鈥檚 sesquicentennial year (2008-09).

Fr. Thomas is a sought-after and globally recognized lecturer on moral theology, especially health care ethics. He serves as vice chair of the Board of Regents of the Franciscan School of Theology at the University of San Diego and most recently served as provincial minister of the Sacred Heart Province until its integration into the Our Lady of Guadalupe Province.

Also at the May meeting, the Board saluted the service of outgoing trustees Fr. Kevin Mullen, O.F.M., Pat Doyle, 鈥80, Dick Penna, 鈥68, and Judy Baumgartner, 鈥91.

    Friday the 25th - Cocktails at Legends Brewery & Beer Garden from 6:00 PM.

    Saturday the 26th - golf outing at Indigo Run, price $126 per round, 5 tee times for groups of four starting at 12:30, clubhouse to be closed for an event but we will have access to a beverage cart and driving range.

     Saturday the 26th - evening cruise on the Salty Dog Cruise boat at 6:00 PM, price is $43 per person.

  • Francis: A New Oratorio by Richard Danielpour

    Experience the world premiere of Francis, a powerful new oratorio by acclaimed composer Richard Danielpour inspired by the life of St. Francis of Assisi and commemorating the 800th anniversary of his death. Featuring a libretto by Sr. Margaret Carney, O.S.F. Led by JoAnn Falletta and featuring Claudia Christian as narrator, the performance brings together the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus for an unforgettable musical experience.

    Join Sr. Margaret at Marcato by Oliver鈥檚 at Kleinhans Music Hall as she shares reflections on bringing the oratorio to life. The luncheon is free, but registration is required by Oct. 5. Performance tickets must be purchased separately.

    The annual Hellinger Awards Ceremony honors the Jandoli School鈥檚 top graduates and recognizes the accomplishments of outstanding alumni. We look forward to honoring 2026 Hellinger Award recipient David Scibilia, honorable mention Conor Amendola, Alumnus of the Year Dr. Michael Hill and welcoming keynote speaker Lisa Wilson, a groundbreaking sports journalist and editorial director at The Athletic.

  • St. Bonaventure MBB vs. Penn State

    Join fellow Bonnies to root on the men鈥檚 basketball team as they face Penn State in an exhibition game at the Key Bank Center in Buffalo, NY at 4:00 p.m.

    All courtside seats (first row) and floor seats on risers (second row) in sections 1-10 include access to the 1970 Club located behind Section 123. The 1970 Club will include a cash bar that will open at 1:30 p.m. and food served at 3:00 p.m.
