The Atlantic Brass Quintet, one of the world鈥檚 most acclaimed and versatile brass chamber ensembles, returns to St. Bonaventure University this summer for its 32nd annual Summer Seminar.
The Atlantic Brass Quintet, one of the world鈥檚 most acclaimed and versatile brass chamber ensembles, returns to St. Bonaventure University this summer for its 32nd annual Summer Seminar.
As part of the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts鈥 30th anniversary season, the quintet will present a series of free masterclasses, student performances and a public recital beginning Tuesday, July 1. All events are open to the public and will be held at the Quick Center.
"This is a unique opportunity for students and community members alike to experience the highest level of brass artistry in a welcoming, educational setting," said Rachel Harris, executive director of the Quick Center. "We are thrilled to welcome the Atlantic Brass Quintet back to campus as part of our anniversary season."
Highlights of the seminar include:
Masterclasses with acclaimed artists (all at 6:30 p.m.):

Masterclasses with acclaimed artists (all at 6:30 p.m.):
- Tuesday, July 1 鈥 "Practice Like an Expert" with trumpet virtuoso Micah Killion, focused on developing effective practice strategies (for students, seventh grade and above).
- Thursday, July 3 鈥 "How to Create a Career in Music" with dynamic trombonist Nikki Abissi, offering advice on navigating the music industry (for students, seventh grade and above).
- Saturday, July 5 鈥 "Mastering the Art of Sightreading" with renowned trumpeter Wayne du Maine, designed to sharpen reading and performance skills (for students, seventh grade and above).
- 10 a.m., Friday, July 4 鈥 "A Morning of Majestic Brass," an elegant showcase by Atlantic Brass Seminar students (open to the public).
- 10 a.m., Friday, July 11 鈥 "The Culmination of Excellence," the seminar鈥檚 grand finale student concert (open to the public).
- 7 p.m., Thursday, July 10 鈥 The Atlantic Brass Quintet in Concert, a powerful and engaging performance by the ensemble.
All events are free, but registration is required. .
Known for its vibrant interpretations and technical brilliance, the Atlantic Brass Quintet performs works spanning five centuries, from baroque transcriptions to the driving rhythms of Balkan brass. The ensemble has won six international chamber music competitions and continues to earn critical acclaim for its artistry and stage presence.
The Regina A. Quick Center at St. Bonaventure has summer hours for all galleries from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, until Sept. 1. Admission is free and open to the public.
