A St. Bonaventure University student journalist will spend his summer covering a story that makes international headlines daily: U.S. immigration policy.

Dr. Chris Mackowski, professor of Journalism and Mass Communication, was part of a team honored over the summer with a gold Telly Award.

Students in Anne Lee’s “Women, Minorities and the Media” course and Richard Lee’s “Media and Democracy” course are assisting with research for a presentation about Patricia Kennealy-Morrison, who studied journalism at St. Bonaventure in the 1960s and had successful careers covering rock’n’roll, developing advertising campaigns and writing novels.

Dr. Pauline W. Hoffmann, associate professor in the Jandoli School of Communication, has been selected as a reviewer for Chapter 8, “Europe and North America,” in the 8th edition of the UNESCO Science Report (USR)

St. Bonaventure University alumnus and global businessman Dick Kearns, ’72, returns to his alma mater in October, bringing along a panel of international business executives for the 11th annual Kearns Global Business Forum.

Conor Amendola, a Media Studies major from Erie, Pennsylvania, and Molly Edgington, an Inclusive and Early Childhood Education major from Glastonbury, Connecticut, have been named Ideal Bonaventure Students for the Class of 2026.

Dr. Richard Lee, a professor in the Jandoli School, spoke at the Mid-Atlantic Popular & American Culture Association conference in Atlantic City on Nov. 9.

St. Bonaventure University has been awarded a four-year, $2.3 million federal grant to expand and strengthen the behavioral health workforce in rural communities across Western New York and Northwestern Pennsylvania.
